Now that the weather has cooled we are back inside at the library for Activity Group and Science. Last week both science classes met and made amazing discoveries.
Family Science explored waves, light and sound. The music they made was beautiful! The Science Lab is working on a series about oil Spills. |

On Wednesday May 4th a few of our thrill seekers spent a few hours at Extreme Trampoline in Carol Stream, IL. This is a great place for the kiddo's to let out any of that pent up winter energy.
They will do group rates and have daytime hours, just right for a homeschooler. |

This week was our first park day of the summer. It was a beautiful sunny day, if a bit frigid, with a windy temp in the low 60's. The kids didn't mind the cool air as they frolicked (yes, I know, who says frolic anyway right????) in the park. The tweens and teens piled onto the playground equipment and the smaller kiddo's buried themselves up to the waist in the huge sand pit. Consider the day a success if your big kid's played like little ones and the little ones need a bath when they get home! |

Today our group visited Prodigy Glassworks in Oak Park's Art District. This is a great place whether your kiddo is an artist or just likes to look at and make really cool stuff. Prodigy has both a gallery and glass blowing studio on premise and offers classes for all ages. Today our kiddo's made pendants, magnets and snack plates. The process is simple and fun for all ages. Start with a clear piece of glass, glue on your glass beads, frizzle, shards, or chunks until you're happy. Once your design is complete, leave it in Prodigy's capable hands and they will "fuse" the glass together in a kiln process. In a week or so swing by to pick up your work of art and viola, you've created a masterpiece, an heirloom and a lovely piece of art all in one.
Matt was so great helping us set up our classes so please give him a call if you'd like to try this too.

Tri-Star Gymnastics has open gym today, Tuesday, from 11:30 am - 12:30 am. The fee is $5.00 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult, no more than 2 children per adult. I've only ever used cash for open gym... and if it is your first time, get there a little early to fill out the waiver form.
Dress is usually shorts or pants and t-shirt, or leotard, with no buttons or zippers etc.
